Firstly I would like to wish a Happy Father’s Day to all the dad’s out there!!!
I have to admit I’m very much a facebook addict! I spend altogether too much time on that site, lol, but it does have it’s advantages!! I’ve been having a great chat today with Hummie of Hummie’s World about making layer styles. If you haven’t checked out her blog, you really should! She has great tuts on using photoshop elements and lots of great info for the scrapbooking world!! I’ve been working on a new layer style for a couple of weeks now. I’m still not completely happy with it but I’ve decided to share it with you all today hoping to get your feedback on it!
This style has a textured plastic look. I’ve been trying to get some gloss on it too but so far that just hasn’t worked out but other than that I’m very happy with the look it gives my elements. It does have some limitations, it only works well with light to medium colors. It loses it’s texture when I take the colors too dark. The good news is that it works great with white, which, for me, is an achievement all by itself. We all know how hard white is to work with and take a texture that actually shows, now if I could just get it to work as well on black, lol. The other good news is that it also recolors very nicely thru the color overlay style settings. I’ve also used it kind of like an overlay on some of my multi-colored elements by duplicating the layer and then applying the style to the duplicate layer and disabling the color overlay setting to let the colors in the lower layer show thru. This example uses a doodle by the amazing Americo, I just love his stuff!!! And gives you a peek into an upcoming kit

Seriously I would appreciate any feedback any of you can give me after you play with it abit!! I absolutely admit this is not a Bannerwoman quality style yet, Banner is truly the queen of styles!! But I hope to get there one day. I made this style in cs4 and it hasn’t been tested in other versions but I don’t expect any problems using it in at least the earlier cs versions. Please, if any of you have any troubles with it in other versions, let me know so I can work on that!! Enough of my rambling, here’s the freebie —

I have a new kit in my Michelle’s Angels store and another CU freebie to share today. I started this kit awhile ago but just didn’t get it finished til a few days ago. It’s called “Crayon Spring” and I used Bannerwoman’s Crayon Brights style for most of it. Crayon Brights is one of my fav styles of Banner’s, I’m so lucky to be a tester for her even tho we are off for the summer. I’m looking forward to fall just for that reason, lol. Once again I deserve the worst blogger ever award!! I’m so sorry I haven’t posted a new freebie for you in ages but I have something new for you today. My big move from CA to KS and finally into my own place again took more out of me than I expected and it took longer to recover than expected as well. Today I have my NSD 2009 Mini to share with you all. It’s been up at Busy Scrappin’ all weekend but I am late getting it posted here on the blog. As you know I test for Bannerwoman so I can’t pass up the opportunity to mention the Bannerwoman products used in this kit, lol.
